Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) is a training program which seeks to bridge the gap between law enforcement/first responders and the mental health system.
It's innovative and important -- and I am so proud to help the Northland's CIT group gain visibility.
There are so many ways to make the world a better place, and this team is doing just that. The Head of the Lakes CIT works to create and sustain more effective interactions among law enforcement, mental health care providers, individuals with mental illness, their families and communities. The organization leads trainings locally for professionals across multiple fields of work.
For the purposes of design, the organization wanted a logo which evoked a sense of place for their local chapter. I wanted it to also embody stability and be highly visible since it would be used principally as a pin, and also a patch on shirts.
Head of the Lakes CIT performs a week long training twice a year, sharing these skills with professionals from various backgrounds. I helped them put together a professional looking binder which holds each student's take-aways -- power point presentations, notes, etc.
